Shakedown

At shakedown this morning Sordo ended with the fastest time, with Loeb only 0,6 seconds after and Petter with the third fastest time, +1,8sec. Petter said that he is very happy with the car and that the changes they have done on the car is working well so far. “We will continue to improve the car during the weekend, and the car has so much more potential, which makes me so trilled about driving this weekend”, Petter said when he stopped by his hotel this afternoon.
Thin air and high temperature meets the drivers when they set off tomorrow morning. The servicepark, which is based on the lowest part of the rally, is on 1800 meters above sealevel, and two of the stages on Friday is on 2700 metres above sea level. The thin air makes the engine loose as much as 30 % of its power, and the drivers need to be in good shape to cope with the thin air and the high temperature.
Marcus Grønholm sets off first tomorrow, and that might not be the best startingposition on these fast stages with a lot of loose gravel. Petter starts as car number 6, and is quite happy with his position.
