Petter kommer på Motorfestivalen

Motorfestivalen 2007 arrangeres på Hellerudsletta 20. april – 22. april, og PSSC kommer selvsagt til å være tilstede med egen stand. Her vil du få muligheten til å bli medlem i supporterklubben, samt gode tilbud på klær og reiser med Destination Rally. Eller hva med et bilde av deg bak rattet i Petters rallybil? Søndag kommer også Petter til å være tilstede, selvsagt i godt humør og klar for autografskriving.

Motorfestivalen er norges største begivenhet for bilentusiaster. Så fort snøen er borte er det klart for å vise frem alt som står blankpolert hjemme i garasjen. I to haller presenteres det heftigste innen bil, motorsykkel og motorsport. Messen arrangeres av Exporama og bladet Bilsport, i samarbeid med Norges Bilsportforbund og Norges Motorsportforbund.

Round up Rally Portugal, from Eileen Casey

Eileen is a member of the supportersclub (PSSC), read her round up from Rally Portugal.

We arrived at Shakedown around 1.5 hours before the first car came through on Thursday morning but there was already a lot of people there (people even camped out to watch Shakedown).

After Shakedown we went to the service park at the Algarve Stadium, I always love watching the mechanics at work, especially before the rally really begins because there is so much excitement wondering what’s going to happen in the days ahead. We then returned to Villamoura to quietly wait for the super special later in the evening, but a surprise phone call from Morten Boer meant that we got to meet with Petter at his hotel after returning from Shakedown. It was here that I got to Give Petter our message book and wish him luck from all the fans on the website. And to our delight Petter stayed with us for a few minutes and talked to us about the new car and he was really excited because he had just set the fastest time on shakedown. We also talked about Rally Ireland later in the year (p.s. come to Donegal in June Petter, its sure to rain there at least one day over the weekend…) and Petter also said how he was happy that his smile was back. So I would just like to thank both Petter and Morten and the supportersclub for making the meeting possible, it got our weekend of to and excellent start!!

Glenn Macneall steps down

In a press-release sent out today, SWRT announces that Glenn Macneall, Chris Atkinsons codriver, steps down with immediate effect. An announcement concerning Chris’ new codriver will be made before Rally Argentina.

Petter is no. 2

Late sunday night FIA announced that 6 of the cars in the Ford team was all awarded a 5 minutes penalty. Petter is now number 2, and Loeb passed Marcus in the championship.

Ford received the penalty because the rear windows, both sides, did not comply with the homologation. The windows should be 3,5mm – not 3mm as measured. Norwegian Andreas Mikkelsen did not get the penalty as he drives a 2005 Ford.

Rally Portugal 2007

After a thrilling fight between Petter and Miko Hirvonen (Ford], Miko secured the 3rd place and pushed Petter down to 4th. Petters car had electrical problems sunday, but he is still happy about the result this weekend. -We needed the points in the championship, and we have been up there fighting with the leaderboard.

Next event is Rally Argentina, 4. – 6. May 2007.
