SWRT announced yesterday that Xavier ’Xevi’ Pons will join the team for the second half of the 2007 season, starting with Rally Finland. Xevi will also drive a third Subaru Impreza for the complete 2008 season.
Xevi is 27 years old, lives in Barcelona and has previously contested in the WRC with both Citroen and Mitsubishi. Xevi’s codriver will be Xavier Amigo.

Great news! I was really surprised since we didn’t get any hints before it was announced. Pons is a solid driver which brings tarmac expertise into the team! And as Viki mentioned somewhere else, it would be really cool to see a Subaru with Burger King logo!
