We’re right in the thick of the WRC season now and with three rallies taking place in just over a month, there’s little time to relax. In fact, the last couple of weeks have included more ups and downs than the Alps!
Firstly there was Rally Argentina, which was eventful, to say the least. The fun started when we travelled 700km to Buenos Aires for a super special inside River Plate Stadium, the famous soccer stadium.
It was very ambitious of the organisers to fly the entire WRC circus to Buenos Aires for 2.40km of rallying and then fly us back to Villa Carlos Paz, the rally base. On the way back, our plane was grounded by a combination of technical difficulties and poor weather and we spent five hours mooching around the airport terminal.
The plane took off in the early hours of Friday morning and I eventually got to bed at 3.30am!. Not ideal preparation for a hard day’s rallying: normally we avoid the late nights until after the event!
When I woke up on Friday the news had filtered through that some of the rally organisers were still stuck back in Buenos Aires and most of the day’s stages were cancelled. Given the hard work we’d put in at the start of the week, doing the recce and adjusting our pace notes, it seemed like a frustrating waste.

“Hold me in good times…
and hold me in bad times!!!”
The rally is over to me! ( this is what Petter said long time ago )
Hi friends!
I have just returned home after speaking some words with Petter about his retirement.
He is really sorry and I feel destroyed because today I saw his big sacrifice in our mountains.
I n his eyes I only could see sadness and deep sorrow, because he was very motivated in our rally to reach the podium.
But this is life and life must go on !
Here I send the last pictures before the ending.
Good night!

SS7 and SS8 is cancelled as well, and the only stage that remain today is the superspecial at Cordoba Stadium. If they manage to go ahead with this stage, it is expected a complete caos in the area. About 80.000 spectators have been waiting up in the mountains all day, and a lot of them have bought tickets today to the superspecial.
But the superspecial is in danger, some of the group N drivers have still not arrived in Cordoba. We will keep you all updated.
