News from FIA

Acropolis 2007

The World Motor Sport Council decided in a meeting in Paris this week, that there will be 12 events in World Rally Championship from 2009. FIA will will present more details for the meeting in October.

“This is a good decision made by the council, and I think it will bring more teams into to the sport. It doesn’t mean any big changes for the drivers, apart from giving us more time for testing and PR”, is Petters comment to the decision.

  1. Petter,
Thanks for letting us know how you feel about this. I thought I remember you saying something similar some time back as well.
As I mentioned in the forum it means some fans are not going to get to see you in a rally if their country or somewhere close is canceled every year or on a rotating basis, that is the disappointment.
But as you say it is also an opportunity for more teams to compete which is good for the sport!
And maybe more testing, much more testing is what Subaru needs to let you do! I just hope the FIA doesn’t start limiting the amount of testing you can do!
Feel free to use any extra time to come to Japan and visit Hiromo and I! :-)
    Love,
    Viki
