Rally New Zealand 2007

Petter ended with 7th position in New Zealand. After having struggled with the car Friday and Saturday, it finally worked better on Sunday. Petter and Phil started the morning with the third quickest time on the first stage of the day. They managed to keep the pace through out the day, and managed to secure their 7th place. Petter says he is satisfied with the result, when you consider the handling problems on Friday and Sunday.
Marcus Grønholm won Rally New Zealand, after a thrilling battle with Sebastien Loeb over the weekend. Grønholm was in the lead after leg1, and Loeb was in the lead after leg2. They continued the fighting on Sunday, and we had to wait until the final stage of the rally before Grønholm managed to steal the needed second from Loeb. The two drivers have set the fastest time on every stage during the event, except SS5 – were Chris were fastest. Grønholms result is historical, it is the closest finish in the history of the WRC, and this is also his fifth win overall in New Zealand
Mikko Hirvonen ended 3rd, while Chris and Latvala have been fighting for the 4th position this weekend. Chris managed to pass Latvala on the penultimate stage of the rally.
Next event is Rally Catalunya – Spain, 5. – 7. October 2007.

Hey Petter, another challenging weekend for you, and yet again you rose to the challenge… I tried my best to be a vampire this weekend but i was also out following the ulster rally here at home, so i just managed to stay awake for the 1st group of stages each day. I’ll be back on track for the next few rallies though, and of course raly Ireland, only 74 days to go now… Hope your testing goes well now in between rallies, take care, eileen xxx

Take some rest because you deserve the best after such hard job.
I love you a lots Petter for all that you do always.
Go-go-go-Petter-go!!!!!
It’s not good to see you struggling with the car, but I’m happy with the next points you’ve taken. Next stop is Spain. I hope for the top 5

Guys : I see you many times ancouraging Petter… but with this car forget to celebrate a win…. I think is time to start thinking to move to Citroen or Ford otherwise Petter will continue celebrating from 3rd place to bottom…. This is the reality.
Hello Petter,
I think the result it’s ok,two points are better than zero,
one day luck comes back to you! So I hope you can get some
points from spain,let’s go!
Hallo my Hero!
You did your best job like always in N.Z.and for me it is enought, because the car has the problem not you.
I know your futures days wil be full of much presure, but I know you like a lots your job because is your life and your passion.
You have to visit Japan, Frankfurt, France and Spain ….and your future will be very exhausting but you have to find some minute of relax because you really deserve its.
I love you a lot and I want you take care of your health before everything.
It is lot of stress to be fighting as you had made during lots of time ago.
I think that you don’t need to prove that you are the “best driver” around the world.
We love you a lots and we respect you because you are the maximum winner for us.
Love.
Elda from Argentina
