Not a new car for Finland
- We will start in Finland with our Citroen, says Petter Solberg after another test in a possible new rally car. We have tested some cars now, and it turns out that it is this old Xsara that works best for us. Now we just have to do whatever is possible to get some power out of it before Finland.
But there is a lot on the program for Petter ahead of Rally Finland. – This weekend Tour de France kicks off in Monte Carlo, and of course I have to be there, says Petter. Next week I’m for some PR work in Mexico and in the middle of July I will be in Arendal for the Norwegian Grand Prix. I will be there with a rallycar, our hospitality-trailer and will also do some driving!
Norwegian Grand Prix will be in Arendal, Norway 17 – 19 July.

Why Xsara? C4 and Focus RS (both from 07-09) are too expensive, and other tested cars – too slow?

So far this season Petter has driven the latest WRC spec Subaru Impreza and Mitsubishi Lancer, plus the Abarth Punto Super 2000. In France last Thursday he carried out a back-to-back test with his Xsara and a Peugeot 307 on a gravel road.
I suppose some policies are involved that Petter do not test C4 or Focus.
He was not driving a Mitsu WRC, was planning but did not do that
Marcus did very well in the Impreza earlier in the season – was in front of Petter…wonder why it was not an option?

Marcus did very well in the Sub, Yes! But the places I saw him he was also the guy driving too much on the edge! That was maybe why he failed too finnish… Petter also had some of tries to keep up with the Sub,, and ended the same way… The Sub was also upgrated with new steering, and Marcus had a good starting position..:)

Petter personally id do a deal with prodrive, as much as from what i can see i think you shouldnt go with citroen or ford out of spite!!
the car i think will be now much better with prodrive backing you as now they wont have subaru breathing down thier necks!!
however whatever you decide for 2010 ill still be rooting for you just like i have done scince 2003.
