Ikke ny bil til Finland
- Vi stiller til start i Finland med Citroen, det sier Petter Solberg etter å ha testet nok en bil mot den gamle Xsaraen. Vi har nå testet flere biler, men det viser seg at det er denne bilen som duger best i kampen mot de helt nye rallybilene. Nå får vi bare jobbe enda mer for å få ut noen flere hestekrefter før start i Finland om noen uker.
Men det er mye på programmet for Petter før den tid. – Denne helgen starter Tour de France her i Monte Carlo, og det er klart jeg må følge med på det, sier Petter. Neste uke reiser jeg til Mexico på PR-jobb, men det store arrangementet i sommer er Norwegian Grand Prix i Arendal. I midten av juli kommer jeg med både rallybil og hospitality-henger og skal kjøre både bil og båt.
Norwegian Grand Prix arrangeres i Arendal, 17. – 19. juli.

Why Xsara? C4 and Focus RS (both from 07-09) are too expensive, and other tested cars – too slow?

So far this season Petter has driven the latest WRC spec Subaru Impreza and Mitsubishi Lancer, plus the Abarth Punto Super 2000. In France last Thursday he carried out a back-to-back test with his Xsara and a Peugeot 307 on a gravel road.
I suppose some policies are involved that Petter do not test C4 or Focus.
He was not driving a Mitsu WRC, was planning but did not do that
Marcus did very well in the Impreza earlier in the season – was in front of Petter…wonder why it was not an option?

Marcus did very well in the Sub, Yes! But the places I saw him he was also the guy driving too much on the edge! That was maybe why he failed too finnish… Petter also had some of tries to keep up with the Sub,, and ended the same way… The Sub was also upgrated with new steering, and Marcus had a good starting position..:)

Petter personally id do a deal with prodrive, as much as from what i can see i think you shouldnt go with citroen or ford out of spite!!
the car i think will be now much better with prodrive backing you as now they wont have subaru breathing down thier necks!!
however whatever you decide for 2010 ill still be rooting for you just like i have done scince 2003.
