2010 WRC

The 2010 calendar is official, with 13 events on for the WRC season. The season kicks off in Sweden mid February and ends in Wales mid November. Bulgaria is a new event, but is on the calendar subject to FIA approval. Argentina and Italy has been identified as reserves, if a nominated round should be unable to run.

We can also expect to see changes with regards to how a rally should be organised. Today a rally is 350 kms special stages, while for next year organisers can decide anything between 300 and 500 kms, and a maximum of 80 kms between each service. A rally can be organised over 2, 3 or 4 days, with a mix of gravel and asphalt stages. Night stages will also be an option.

Next year could maybe give us rallies with 4 full days of stages, or maybe just 2.

It looks like the FIA is looking to bring in more manufacturers. I wonder if Petter will end up behind the wheel of a VW.

That would be interesting, for sure.

    Hi Petter,

It’s a good news for me that Rally Japan will be held in Sep 2010.

    My plan is…
Arrive in Hokkaido in the afternoon on Monday, earlier than Phil maybe!
Chase your recce car by Viki’s “Solberg 7 replica Legacy” on Tue and Wed!
    That’s same as 2008!

A LOT OF Japanese fans are supporting you!

  7. Jan Ove Liseth says:

Is it not from the 2010 season the super 2000 + car is introduced as the WRC class car?

Or can teams still drive WRC cars with today’s spec and regulations next season as well?

I hope to see you in a manufactor team next season Petter:)

It’s both easier and more difficult with a manufactor team in the back, and by that i mean its economicly easy, but more pressure for sucsess…

I wish you the best for next season no matter what, and just pray that you drive somthing equal and competative to Loeb, Sordo, Hirvonen and Latvalla..
    And of course Henning:)

  8. Niall says:

Hope you go with the Focus for the rest of the season and next year, i think you would get some great results in it, a come back like Gronholm did in 2006/2007, except you would win the Championship.
