Only one more event to go

The final event of the 2010 WRC season is only days away, and we are up for a really exciting rally in Wales. After 12 events, Petter is forth in the overall classification, but with both third and second within reach. Sebastien Loeb secured his title in France, so he will be the winner anyway. Jari Matti Latvala is third, 5 points ahead of Petter. Sebastien Ogier is second, but only 16 points ahead of Petter.

So, we are up for an exciting grand finale in Wales, and hopefully a fight for the two remaining places on the podium. The winner gets 25 points, second is 18 and third is 15 points. Then it is; 12, 10, 8, 6, 4, 2 and 1 point for 10th place.

Petter and Chris 2 in Spain

Rally Spain is completed and Petter Solberg and Chris Patterson ended in second place. They finished the day 2 in second position, and managed to keep Dani Sordo behind until the finish line. Sebastien Loeb won Rally Spain, and Dani Sordo ended third.

- Our second place today feels really good, says Petter Solberg. – This is a great result for both the team, and us and makes it extremely exciting for Wales in a couple of weeks. I had everything under control today, and drove on the split-times that was send to me in the car. Lost a few seconds when I didn’t get two of the splits, but caught up with that on the next one. Now we will look ahead to Wales, and make sure we are fully prepared, as I really want to win there!

Next event, and the season finale, is in Wales, 11. – 14. November 2010.

- Had a good push this morning. Lost a few seconds on the first stage, because I didn’t get the splits, but managed to catch up again before the end of the stage. For the last run through I guess it will all be about taking care of the tires.

Itinerary day 3 – Rally Spain

Only 4 stages to go on the final day in Spain, all of them on asphalt. It’s a short day, but it contains the longest stage of the rally, El Priorat and 42kms. Petter and Chris are second in the overall classification, and will run as car number two on the road. Sebastien Loeb is leading the rally, 44 seconds ahead of Petter. Dani Sordo is third, 16 seconds behind Petter. We are up for a real fight today!

Day 2 – Rally Spain[/lang-en]

The second day in Spain is completed, and Petter and Chris has climbed to second in the overall classification, 44 seconds behind Sebastien Loeb who is leading Rally Spain. Dani Sordo is third, 16 seconds behind Petter.

- It feels extremely good to finish the day in second place, says Petter Solberg. – I did say yesterday that I was going for second today, so I’m sticking to my plan. Lost some time this morning, but other than that I am very happy with the result. I am really looking forward to having a proper fight with Dani tomorrow, I know he will be pushing, but I will do whatever I can to keep my place.

6 stages have been competed today, and Petter and Chris started the day in fourth position. They climbed ahead of Latvala and to third on the first stage of the day, and took second place on the next stage. Sebastien Ogier went off the road on SS8 and lost 15 minutes while repairing the car. A stage win wrapped up the second day for Petter and Chris, as they were fastest through the live broadcasted SS12.

Only 4 more stages to go tomorrow, but two of them are the longest ones of the rally; 42kms. First car will be on the road from 0840.

Classification 9 of 16 stages

9 of 16 stages done, and we are halfway through the second day in Spain. Petter and Chris has now climbed up to second place in the overall classification, only 46 seconds behind Sebastien Loeb who is leading the rally. Latvala is third, while Sordo is fourth.

Crews are back in the service park now, and will soon head out again for the afternoon loop of the same three stages. The final stage of the day, SS12, will be broadcasted live on Spanish TV; Canal 33 and ESPORT3. The stage will also be shown on www.elsesports.cat.

Between services

It is unbelieveable how many guys and for how many days it is possible to work on a Gas Gas, and still no success! Guess this is a story to be continued.
