Live From The Field
Daylight is almost gone, but we still have loads to do. Just about starting to know the car, so guess we are up for a late night.

It’s fast, fun and great to drive! Different, but actually feels quicker. Enjoying every minute!

On Saturday evening, our excellent codriver Chris Patterson was awarded Northern Ireland Motorsport Personality of the year. – I am very honoured and proud to receive this recognition from the ANICC, says Chris. – I am disappointed that I couldn’t be there to receive it, but I think my parents enjoyed doing that for me!
A dramatic exit for Petter Solberg and Chris Patterson in Rallye Monte-Carlo.
Petter Solberg and Chris Patterson finished the final stage of the rally as 7th in the overall classification, but an electrical fault forced them to retire on the road section between SS13 and the finish at the harbour of Monaco. 10kms from the finish, the car stopped completely.
Bryan Bouffier won the 2011 Rallye Monte-Carlo. Bouffier climbed several positions on the overall classification when he made a smart tyre choice before the snow came on the second day of the rally and managed to keep his lead. Loix ended second and Wilks third. Sarrazin, who finished the rally in third position, ended fourth after he was awarded a 30 seconds penalty before the final time control.
Next event for Petter Solberg and Chris Patterson is the WRC event Rally Sweden, 10 – 13 February.

Petter and Chris started the second day third, but a wrong tyre choice, and some snow, pushed them down to 7th in the overall classification.
During the second loop of todays stages the snow came and turned the overall classification upside down. Lucky were those who had chosen snow-tyres, not to mention Delecour who were the only one with studs. Petter and Hanninen, who were first and second before the start of SS7 and SS8, gambled on the tyre choice and lost.
- Definitely not the best choice, says Petter Solberg about choosing the intermediate tyres. – That last stage seemed to go on forever, felt like we would never get to the finish. We gambled, and we lost, that’s it. Now the focus is on tomorrow’s stages and we will do whatever we can to catch up.
Rallye Monte-Carlo continues with 5 more stages Friday.

Petter Solberg and Chris Patterson is currently third in the overall classification, when the first day, in Rallye Monte-Carlo is completed. Hanninen is leading the rally, while Loix is third.
- I am very happy with third, says Petter Solberg. – It is my first day in this car, and it will take some time to find the rythm. But it’s getting better and better, and it is still a long way to go before we finish.
Henning Solberg ran into problems on SS2 and had to retire after he crashed into a wall. Andreas Mikkelsen damaged a wheel on the first stage, and was also forced to retire. Swedish PG Andersson also damaged a wheel, and retired.
