End of Day 3 – Rally Finland
Petter and Chris finish Rally Finland in fifth place overall.
Petter and Chris managed to defend their fourth place position for most of the final day of Rally Finland, keeping Norwegian Mads Østberg behind them. SS18, the second run of the day through 14.66km Surkee stage saw Ford drivers Jari-Matti Latvala and Mikko Hirvonen both climb a position; Latvala taking second overall from Citroen’s Sebastien Ogier and Hirvonen taking fifth from Østberg to sit behind Petter. Like yesterday, Hirvonen won most of the day’s stages, climbing back up the leaderboard after his time-loss at the beginning of this, his home rally. His stage win on SS19 narrowed the gap between him and fourth place to 3.6s then on the following stage, SS20, yet another win saw him gain one more place to move ahead of Petter and Chris and take fourth overall.
After managing to hold onto his overnight lead throughout the final day, Sebastien Loeb is the winner of Neste Oil Rally Finland. Jari-Matti Latvala finished in second place followed by Sebastien Ogier in third. Mikko Hirvonen took maximum bonus points for winning the Power Stage and finished the rally in fourth. Petter and Chris finish Rally Finland in fifth place.
- Yes, I am disappointed, says Petter Solberg. – Been pushing hard all weekend and without any result. The car was perfect after the test, but we didn’t manage to get it like that again. Had a problem with the front differentials this morning, but we fixed that at the service. And I can tell you, I have really been pushing and taking risks this afternoon, still we couldn’t keep the pace. Now we look ahead and switch over to Germany preparations!

Of course you feel dissapointed with fifth place because you can get 1st place, but do not worry, look to Germany now you still did all of us fans proud.
Rally Finland is a very difficult rally, your car wasnt quiet perfect for you this rally but you still picked up important points!

It’s now time to think about the future, and overall the next WRC event in Germany. I really hope I can meet you in Trier on Thursday, because as every year, I’ll be there, and I realy want to see you in the paddock !!!!

Tell Quesnel he better give you a top performing car and not a tuned-down version like you have now and last day in Greece. If we don’t see you get that I hope all Petter fans will boycott Citroen by not buying their cars. Quesnel is running too many games and control over PSWRT.
