Sweden

Sweden gets the honour of kicking off the 2010 WRC-season. Sweden has a long history in arranging WRC-events, but was not on the calendar in 2009. It all starts Thursday evening in Karlstad with a Super Special at “Färjestad”. Servicepark will be in Hagfors, as earlier, while the finish-ceremony will be in the city of Karlstad Sunday afternoon.

2010:
Today were the final day of Rally Sweden, and Petter ended 9th and scored 2 points in the championship. Mikko Hirvonen won the rally, Sebastien Loeb ended 2nd and Latvala 3rd.
Rally Sweden has been a real challenge for Petter Solberg World Rally Team. Petter and Phil started Friday morning 18 seconds behind the leader, caused by a spin on Thursdays Super Special. At SS5 on Friday they went off the road 13k’s into the stage, and lost more than 4 minutes.

What happend in 2008?
Petter ended fourth and scored 5 more points in the drivers championship. Jari-Matti Latvala is the winner of the 2008 Swedish Rally, his first WRC win ever. And Jari-Matti is, with his 22 years, the youngest driver ever to win a WRC-event. Mikko Hirvonen ended second, while Gigi Galli drove into third position – his second time on the podium ever. Norwegian Andreas Mikkelsen ended fifth, after fantastic driving this weekend. Henning, who started under SupeRally regulations today, ended 13th – after having set the fastest time on all Sunday stages. Two stages were cancelled this weekend, due to bad roadconditions.
